Bleh.

A pretty disappointing weekend poker-wise. Played three nights of 10/20 in Schenefeld for a total win of about 350 Euros, and actually quite a few hours on Stars for a win of $87.
I try to tell myself a win is a win is a win but somehow I still feel like I just wasted time.
Obviously, if you only win 350 in three days in Schenefeld, there were lots of bad beats and such, but mostly I could have done much better if I hadn't made one terrible fold :

I limp 5h 4h behind six (!) limpers, and we see a nine-handed flop of Kh 8h 6h. 'Junger Mann' (a persian Mr-Miyagi-lookalike) bets out from the big blind, two players call, and the (also persian)guy in front of me raises. I had not been at the table very long but I did know that this player was not particularly good, liked to limp (as does everyone there), and was not a regular at this casino. I decide to call (and raise the turn), and so does Mr Miyagi and both other players.
The turn is the Ac, and Mr Miyagi bets out again. I had kinda semi-put him on AhXx on the flop anyway so I was not too surprised. One guy called, the new persian guy calls, and I raise. Mr Miyagi and persian guy both call. The river is the 9h (booooh!). Mr Miyagi checks, the persian guy suddenly bets out, and I fold. It was 20 to call into a pot of over 300. So yeah, Mr Miyagi decides to look up the persian guy with two pair, and the guy shows 2h2c. Well played I guess.

So Stars it is

I have finally decided to just play at PokerStars from now on. No idea why it has taken me so long since it is the obvious choice, but it's not like I've put a lot of time and effort into poker this month. They just have more games at all levels and really good software and once you play there a bit their 'rakeback' isn't THAT bad, either. Or at least, it could be worse.
Anyway, since anyone familiar with Stars' player rewards setup knows, playing there is only really worthwhile if you are a supernova, which I can't possibly accomplish this year, since I have only collected 10k FPP so far. So, my goal for 2007 shall be to reach Supernova status no later than May 1st. 25k points per month doesn't seem too unrealistic, as half a day of 3- or 4-tabling random mid-limit shorthanded tables gives you like 2k points, so I only need to be able to make myself play 10 days a month during a time with no soccer. Seems do-able.
Today I am going to Hamburg for 3 nights of live poker. I haven't played live in ages, and apparently the games there have changed a bit (well for one thing limit is now usually 20/40 instead of 10/20), but I am still pretty confident that I can make it a profitable weekend despite the fact that I am already 'down' 500 from hotel and gas. Wish me luck.
